Sailing & Job fair

The last few days have been a blur. We have been keeping busy with a few different things. Today we went sailing today on the Hudson River. We spent 3 hours learning and practicing sailing on a 33ft boat. We sailed past Ellis Island and right up to the Statue of Liberty. Pastor Trevor (PT) congratulated us on not hitting the statue. We also sailed right next to Manhattan and had a lot of fun getting out of the way of the many ferries and barges that filled the river. The city looked impressive from the river. It was an amazing experience.

The last two days at NC have been spent hosting a job fair. NC is going to hire 30 teens from the community to work at counselors, tutors, and leaders for the Summer Camp and after school center. Yesterday, about 80 students showed up and learned about the different job possibilities and how to write a resume. 60 students returned today to role play jobs they are interested in. Tomorrow is the final day where the students will return one last time and we will pull various students for interviews.

We will try to post pictures later. Our camera will not download them onto Bryan's computer right now.
