The last week has been extremely hot. We have had a heat wave with temperatures in the upper 90s. We haven't wanted to go outside and do much, especially since everything is surrounded by cement.
We did take the summer camp on a trip to the Liberty Science Center last Friday. The kids had a lot of fun exploring the hands on exhibits. However, it was quite crazy and all the leaders were ready to be done for the day. Steph was in charge of 12 first/second graders with one teen leader. The kids were running all over and every time we tried to round them up, others would run off.
Saturday was spent in the air conditioning at home. We did venture out for dinner in Hoboken. We have had many recommendations for a restaurant called Amanda's. We went for the early bird special, and had a great dinner. It was a very fancy restaurant (they brought the soup spoon out on a silver platter), and it was some of the best food we have ever eaten! Bryan ordered a lobster soup, and Steph even liked it!
Sunday we headed to the Yankees game. It was in the upper 90s and we were sitting in the upper deck without any shade. For the first part of the game, it was cloudy and we even had a few raindrops! We ended up standing on the middle level for the end of the game because the sun came back out. It was very hot, and we were sick of listening to the vulgar language from the people sitting behind us. After the game we headed home to take a shower and rest in the air conditioning.
Monday started our third week of summer camp. We started learning about the shield of faith. Steph was in charge of the "sermon" for the day, and everyone claimed she did a great job.

Bryan/Steph: Good to see that you are having good time and enjoying doing God's work in a different setting. Praying God's blessing on you, your work and those receiving the "seeds of faith" through you. See you in short while. Stay in good health! And safe return.
